Meteorite over Mt. Hood – Christopher Lisle

I have spent many miles hiking around Mt. Hood and the surrounding forest over the last 7 years. I wanted to put together a collection of photographs that showed not only the variety of terrain but also how the different seasons change the landscape.

I’ve read dozens of books on the area along with studying maps and online resources to have a better understanding of the area along with insight into historical landmarks and old routes. Some of my favorite hikes have come from just exploring different trails and trying to find the routes less traveled. That also goes for composition and framing of these selected images.

I might have to do a series on the waterfalls and forest of the Columbia River Gorge between Portland and Hood River next. Check out my video titled ‘Water’.
