It’s the inherent duality of a mask itself; protecting, disguising, performing, or entertaining. Used since antiquity for both ceremonial and practical purposes masks have always held a variety of functions. Inspired by our disconnection with nature as we set steadfast to destroy it, Modern Masks looks at two distinctly different periods where ideals and ideology have greatly shifted.
